Features

QR code check-in for events. Any phone is the scanner.

Open the check-in page on a phone, point the camera at the ticket, and the guest is in. No app to install, no scanner to rent. Green means in, red means used, orange means not admitted. The guest list in the office updates as the door works.

The printed list at the door

Most events still start with a printed guest list, a highlighter and a queue. Someone asks for a name, scans three pages, ticks a box. The person behind waits. When the list was printed on Tuesday, everyone who registered on Wednesday is a problem. Nobody in the office knows how many people have actually arrived.

Dedicated scanners fix the speed and create a new problem: hardware to hire, an app to install on every device, accounts to set up the day before. For a reception with 200 guests that is more infrastructure than the event deserves.

Mission Support puts the scanner in the browser. Every ticket carries a QR code, every phone with a camera reads it, and the guest list is the same list the door is working from.

How the door scanner works

  1. 1

Open the check-in page on any phone

Staff sign in once and pick the event. The camera fills the screen. iPhone Safari and Android Chrome both work; there is nothing to install and nothing to update on the day.

  2. 2

Hold the ticket in front of the camera

A valid ticket is checked in the moment its QR code is read. There is no button to press. The frame turns thick green, a short rising tone plays, and the next ticket can follow at once.

  3. 3

Red and orange tell the rest

A ticket that was already used, or a code that does not belong to this event, gets a red frame, a low buzz and the time of the first scan. A guest who is still waiting for approval or has been cancelled gets orange. Admins see a "Check in anyway" button for those cases.

  4. 4

    No ticket? Search by name

The search sheet finds a guest from the second letter of their name or email. The hit shows their status and ticket category. Check-in from search is an explicit tap, so a wrong name cannot slip through.

  5. 5

Watch it happen from the office

The live check-in view in the admin lists arrivals newest first and refreshes itself. The counter in the scanner shows checked-in against confirmed the whole evening.

Double scans and the queue behind them

A QR code stays in the frame for a second or two after the guest has been admitted. The scanner knows this. The same code is ignored while it stays in the picture and for five seconds after it was last seen. Only when the same ticket comes back later does the red "Ticket already used" appear. A different ticket is read immediately.

The result banner stays for five seconds or until the next scan. The sound can be switched off with one tap, and the phone remembers the choice. On Android the phone also vibrates, with a different pattern for a refusal.

Companions and groups

Guests can bring companions, and the door handles both ways of doing it. A guest who registered with two unnamed companions has a ticket that shows "+2 guests"; the three are checked in together. Companions with their own names and tickets scan on their own, and the search sheet lists them under the main guest with a checkbox to admit the whole group in one tap.

A companion scanning in before the main guest is fine. The door sees who they came with and lets them through.

Walk-ins at the door

For a free event, admins and event managers can register a guest who is not on the list. The search sheet offers "Not on the list? Register at the door": first name, last name, email and the ticket category. "Register & check in" admits the guest straight away; "Register only" adds them to the list and sends the ticket mail. Door registration works even when the event is full, so the decision stays with the person at the door.

Events that sell paid tickets do not offer the door register. Cash at the door is not something the platform handles.

Check-out and the live view

A guest who was scanned by mistake, or who leaves and will come back, can be checked out from the admin guest list. The action asks for confirmation and explains what happens: the guest goes back to confirmed and can be scanned in again. The attendance count stays honest.

The live check-in view is a tab on the guest list. It shows only checked-in guests, newest first, with arrival time and ticket category, and refreshes on its own through a realtime connection with polling as a fallback. The office sees the room fill up without refreshing anything.

Who may do what at the door

Team members have one of three roles. Check-in staff can only scan and search; they cannot see the admin, cannot override a refusal and cannot register walk-ins. Event managers and workspace admins get the extra buttons. Check-in staff accounts do not use an admin seat, so hand out as many as the door needs.

Access can be limited to specific events. A helper on duty at the spring reception sees that event and nothing else.

A record of the evening

Every check-in is written to the activity log with the account that did it. An admin override records the status the guest had before. After the event the organiser can answer "who admitted this person, and when".

Guest data stays in the EU, the scanner reads only the columns the door needs, and a staff account without access to an event simply gets an empty result.

Which plan you need

QR tickets and the door scanner are part of the Plus plan (€49 per month or €490 per year) and above. The Free plan has the guest list and the Excel export, but tickets carry no QR code and the scanner has nothing to read.

The live check-in view in the admin and the audit log are part of the Pro plan (€149 per month or €1,490 per year). A single event pass (€199 one-off) unlocks the Pro features for one event on any plan, including the scanner and the live view.

The 14-day trial runs on Pro, so you can test the whole flow with a made-up guest list before deciding. No card is needed.

Questions about check-in

Do my staff need to install an app?

No. The scanner is a web page. Staff open it in Safari on an iPhone or Chrome on Android, allow the camera once, and start scanning. There is nothing to update before the event.

What happens if a guest forgot their ticket?

Tap "Search guest" and type the first letters of their name or email. The hit shows their status and ticket category. One tap on "Check in" admits them. The search is deliberately explicit, so nobody is checked in by accident.

Can several people scan at the same time?

Yes. Any number of phones can work the same event. Every check-in goes to the same database, so a ticket scanned at entrance A shows as used at entrance B. The live view in the office sees all of them.

What if the camera does not work?

The scanner says so and offers the guest search instead. The usual cause is a denied camera permission in the browser; allowing it and reloading fixes it. Name search works without a camera at all.

Can I undo a check-in?

Yes. In the admin guest list a checked-in guest has a "Check out" action. It asks for confirmation and sets the guest back to confirmed, so their ticket can be scanned in again.
